The Powders Of The Dales

The Powders Of The Dales

The Complete And Utter History Of Dr WHO? (Part Thirty-One)

A new Doctor! Some new trousers!

The incredible had happened - the series were carrying on without the presence of its original title actor's hat!

This were mostly for sensible reasons however, as Paddy Trousers (proclaimed in some newspapers as The Nude DrWoo, but thankfully this were just a case of crossed wires) found that William Hartley-Hare's hat slipped down over his eyes and he would be forever bumping into the monsters.

The Secondary Docto Ho sprung up all ready for action and played with his new instrument much to the annoyance of BENNY and POLTY who thought that this were not suitable behaviour in mixed company.

TARDIST had landed near a brewery on Mercury where a man were taking an exam, but got shot as he cheated by looking at the answers before it started. DRHOHO took his place and entered a colonist where the son of a man called Lester would not listen and a man from a 'Dad's Army' film were up to nefarious porpoises.

There were also a capsule that were mostly made of big rivets wherein dwelt some of the dreadful DALES who had applied for the position of servants and grooms of the stools, but soon became fed up with their lot and build a conveyor belt instead from which they poured forth in greater numbers than ever before!

This conveyor belt sequence inspired a young Bryce Forescythe who watched this at home and later invented 'The Price Is Right' as a direct consequence.

DROW defeated the Dales in the end by blowing their own powdered sauce at them although this caused a mess on the walls and floor and thus he went away before he were presented with the Bill. Which were an subtle in-joke about the previous actor who had played in his part, and not the later ITV series featuring the adventures of policemen's feet.

Viewers at home had a mixed reaction the the Secondary DRH as some thought he were the best DOCTORWHOOSH since the last one and other people said they had gone off the show since going through the change. But this is often a difficult time and things tend to settle down after a while.

This story were swiped by the BBCB and the film were cut into lots of little pieces and hidden all over the world and every now and then people find another bit in unexpected places like Pebble Mill. So why not look in your own drawers and see if you can find an exciting part there?

After all, you never know till you look!

The TARDIST went to Scotland in the past as someone had got a good deal on the sleeper train and it would make a nice night's trip for the production teams and you got free tea and biscuits in the morning.
