"Dominator Rago seemed to go down quite well..."

"Dominator Rago seemed to go down quite well..."

We're aiming to do some recording today, so not much time for anything too involved for this blog post. You've had a narrow escape! Though whether this is an Escape To Danger is not for me to say...

But things have been quite busy on the YouTube front and we've seen a noticeable rise in the numbers which makes interesting reading if you like that sort of thing. Inevitably, the UK and USA are still top of the shop, but a special hello to Finland, who are an unexpected entry at Number Three in the Watch Time list.

We make no secret of the fact that we've had this increase mostly due to concentrating on the Twitch 'Doctor Who' marathon, which has put the 'Are You Being Served?' videos slightly on the back burner. But don't worry, they will return once everything's calmed down a bit.

But what's nice is that we've had positive comments and feedback from people outside our usual Twitter and Facebook regulars. So we hope you'll forgive us if we briefly play to our new audience. But as always, if we can introduce a few people to the worlds beyond 'Doctor Who', then so much the better.

So far we've done four videos commenting on the black-and-white stories, the most recent of which may be found here along with a two-part look at Jeremy Bentham's 'The Early Years' book, which concludes here.

But Twitch are rattling through the episodes at such a pace that Troughton has already been and gone. 'The Ambassadors Of Death' and 'Inferno' are scheduled for Monday night and I think we'll just have to make do a with a general look at the Pertwee era, but I'm not even sure when we'll be able to fit that in yet!

When we did our own Everything In Order Marathon it took us well over 18 months, but that's the price you pay for (mostly) only doing it once a day. We started in 2003 and managed to just about finish before the new series started in 2005. By comparison, Twitch will zip through the whole Pertwee era in less than two weeks, which makes Bessie in 'The Time Monster' seem sluggish by comparison.

But we were keen to help people plug the gaps, both with missing episodes and the animated ones that have been skipped over, so we've also recorded a guide to books, CDs and DVDs that we hope comes in useful. You can have a gander at us waving the book versions of stuff like 'The Macra Terror' just about here.

Happy times and places!
