Resolution
Resolution
Happy New Year everyone!
Usually, we watch a new 'Doctor Who' story for a second time before we do a video about it, but with 'Resolution' doing new things with old stuff, we thought we'd use than as an excuse to change our approach as well.
Unusually (though we think it did happen once before), Lisa's survey was filled in after nattering about it on the sofa, so what you see is very much a gut reaction.
We even got our red Palitoy Talking Dalek out, but despite equipping him with some new batteries, the speech mechanism seems to have given up the ghost some time ago, so sadly he couldn't join in the discussion.
With immaculate timing, there's a nod in this story to a 'drone' causing massive disruption and the suspension of UNIT is possibly also influenced by current events.
But with a long wait until the return of Jodie's Doctor and friends, we'll instead embark on a series of discussions starting with Episode 1 of 'The War Machines' and we hope we can find a few new things to talk about in stories we've seen more than a few times before.
After all, if 'Resolution' managed to put a fresh spin on the very familiar, we'll try and follow in its footsteps.
Or, given that its a home-made Dalek, perhaps that should read 'castors'?
Our video about 'Resolution' can be seen here.
