"Rose, do you want to rub 'Rose'...?"

"Rose, do you want to rub 'Rose'...?"

"We make excitement!" claimed the cast of 'Robin Of Sherwood' once. Though they did have difficulty keeping a straight face when saying such a damn silly line...

Well, maybe we can't provide Excitement, but we've been at least attempting Mild Interest this week, with a few more videos based on things that have arrived through the post. From our postie's point of view we certainly make Work.

But before we had things to open, we spent a few minutes remembering that lovely chap Michael Sheard, who we were lucky enough to spend some time with, usually over an ale or two. Or whisky & Canada Dry in Michael's case, this being his tipple of choice.

It was a great surprise to be asked to help out with an anecdote or two in his book 'Yes, School's Out!' and this volume still makes us smile when we leaf through it. For someone best known as playing (how shall I put this?) intimidating parts, Sheardy was one one of the most generous of convention guests always ensuring that people enjoyed themselves.

Growing up watching Mr Bronson on 'Grange Hill', I never imagined that one day I'd be sitting in a pub on The Isle Of Wight with the man himself, just nattering about stuff. Gawd bless you, Michael - you'd have been fab on 'Round The Archives'!

Apparently the Young People Of Today actually do Unboxing Videos on YouTube, so when Lisa ordered four random Pop! figures, we could hardly let the opportunity pass to generate some Excitement from this. I knew there was little chance of me knowing what the characters were actually from, of course, but hopefully our air of confusion is at least vaguely endearing. Now a Pop! of Hugh Burden as Mr J.G. Reeder would be right up my street, but I think that's getting a little obscure for the wider market...

If nothing else, Martha Cat was very keen on the big box and wasted no time in claiming it for her own...

Two volumes of 'Doctor Who - The Complete History' were next to arrive and I did a solo video for these. This took a couple of takes as I started talking even more nonsense than usual and Rose Cat came in and coughed loudly at one point, distracting me. As I said on the piece, this project is certainly appreciated for collecting everything into one place as much as possible and there are some very familiar names involved. (*Waves at David Brunt*)

Finally, Lisa had a vertiable mountain of stuff arrive on Thursday, including the new 'Doctor Who Magazine' (hello there to Tim Worthington!), the new set of Target 'Doctor Who' novelisations and (drum-roll) Volume Two of 'The Indoor League'.

Rose Cat showed some interest in the paperback version of 'Rose' and we've already noted how Russell T Davies has had some fun expanding the scene involving Clive explaining about various sightings of the Doctor...

To sum up then, an interesting range of stuff, but what becmes very obvious is how I cannot wait to record something with Warren about the finer points of Table Football and Shove Ha'penny...

"Ah'll si thee!"
