Recording Update For Episode 26

Recording Update For Episode 26

Warren is in the house and we've spent a couple of useful hours recording the remaining articles for Episode 26 of 'Round The Archives'.

First into the DVD player were a couple of episodes of 'Wacky Races', something that Warren hadn't seen since his childhood. Though it's debatable exactly when that finished, or even if it has actually done so.

When we chose this as a possible series to cover, we knew that this wouldn't probably be one of our most heavily-researched articles, but we did have a copy of 'The Wacky Races Handbook' to, er, hand. This is a fun little book with profiles on the characters and vehicles, along with an episode guide that includes the Top Three finishing positions for each race.

Along the way, we discuss the physics of the Cartoon Universe, touch on some of the spin-offs and wonder why Dick Dastardly wasted all that time setting up those elaborate traps when HE WAS ALREADY MILES AHEAD OF EVERYONE ELSE!!!

Thick Dastardly, more like!

Also on the menu for today was an episode of 'The Rivals Of Sherlcok Holmes'. With the recent loss of Jaqueline Pearce, we went for 'The Case Of The Dixon Torpedo' from the first season, in which she makes a brief but still memorable appearance.

Apart from Ronald Hines as Jonathan Pryde, this one throws such names as Derek Francis, Cyril Shaps, James Bolam, Bill Wallis and  Raf Da La Torre into the mix for an intriguing tale of stolen plans and men in sinister beards with 'mysterious nuts'. Or something that sounds very much like that to me!

We may have recorded the odd out-take along the way, but that means that Episode 26 just needs the linking material to be recorded before we enter the editing stage.

All in all, a good day's work amd we've still not had tea as I write this.

How's that for dedication to the cause?
