We've reached the Mugs & Notebooks stage!

We've reached the Mugs & Notebooks stage!

So we've got a podcast, a YouTube channel and apparently there's a blog knocking about somewhere on the internets. But we're old fashioned enough to like to have something to hold in our hot little hands, so we've recently wandered over to have a look at how this Redbubble thing works.

Now, we've been tempted on more than one occasion by the work of people such as Clayton Hickman, which explains the odd photo of Lisa sporting a Grace Brothers or Radio Maplins bag. And the fact that I'm typing this on the sofa, next to a cushion with a pattern based on Mavic Chen's snazzy 'Master Plan' top...

But these can have a short window of availability, as there's the problem of copyright when it comes to using these sort of designs. What was on sale last week might have vanished into the ether next week. And that's perfectly understandable - ait's fair to say that we wouldn't be too happy if someone was ripping off episodes of 'Round The Archives' and charging for them.

Now, I've dabbled with the odd bit of abstract painting and sometimes manage to take the odd interesting photograph and frankly, we can never have too many mugs, so in the past few days, I've uploaded some images to Redbubble just to see what they look like on real objects.

Of course, one you pop, you just can't stop...

With the decent weather continuing today, I've been out in the back garden, taking close-ups of some interesting surfaces and details, which clearly means that I've been bitted by the Creativity Bug.
And, of course, the laws of Quality Control mean that you have to try the end results out for youself, so we've ordered some mugs and notebooks for our own amusement. At least we know we'll get decent use out of them.

We've never thought of ourselves as a 'brand', but it's quite weird to see something you've made appear on a physical object. And if anyone else orders something, that'll be quite a strange experience, too.

Once we'd uploaded enough images, it was even possible to make a composite image to go on a T-shirt. But there doesn't seem to be any button to alter the hairstyle of the model, which is as far away from mine as it is possible to imagine.

If anyone fancies a gander at our Redbubble shop, then it can be found here.

Happy shopping!

  1. I still have t-shirts and stuff that I did of Charlie Grrr and Deeley back in the day. It's fun! I've not thought about doing SHY LIFE PODCAST stuff, but I probably should now that I have a nice new logo. :)
