Thirty... Thousand?

Thirty... Thousand?

Somehow this blog has clocked up in excess of 30,000 pageviews, which feels gratifying but somewhat perplexing. So thank-you to everyone who has ever given our ramblings houseroom. We couldn't have done it without you. Quite literally.

This morning, we were lucky enough to receive a bonus piece for our Christmas special, which has already been added to the Audacity timeline for Episode 30. Over the weekend, we'll be concentrating on the 'Paddington' episodes we've been meaning to do for ages, then it just becomes a matter of links, continuity clips, adverts, music and assorted other editing-type nonsense.

Looking to 2019, we are hoping to expand our group of writers and voices as we embark on our 30s. The 'You Have Been Listening To...' list is already longer then we could ever have hoped, but there are still lots of fab people out there that we'd love to rope in at some point.

Would we ever be in the position of releasing an episode without actually contributing a couple of articles ourselves? I'm not sure, but it might be an interesting experiment.

What we do at the moment feels more like being a 21st century 'Doctor Who' showrunner, approaching people to do something, whilst trying to fit the writer to the subject matter. But could we do one acting as a more old-fashioned Script Editor; assembling a team, but not actually writing anything in an official capacity?

It would rely on the goodwill of lots of people, but we have started to be in the lucky position of having stuff ready to go several months in advance.

And when it comes to picking shows to cover, getting new people allows us to feature stuff we'd never think of doing if it was left up to us.

So if anyone has been listening to 'Round The Archives' and thinks we've been cruelly ignoring a series, please let us know. It might not be deliberate, it might just be that nobody's thought of doing it yet.

But hopefully there are one or two fresh ideas for Things To Do In 2019...
