Not much time to subject you all to a lengthy one today, but sometimes small ones are more juicy, at least according to the adverts...
People sometimes accuse us of trying to spice up our videos with innuendo in a misguided attempt to get the viewing figures up. To be honest, most of the time they just slip out naturally as it's quite difficult to keep it up if you think too long and hard about it.
But listening back to the soundtrack for our look at the 'Doctor Who' Operation Game, I can see their point. I inadvertently invite Lisa to take her top off and there's much fumbling about in crevices with off-screen advice along the lines of "get the end, the actual sticky-up bit there!". I also refer to a Dalek in all his glory with all his parts on display....
Sadly, there's a vital metal bit that's come away as we've bent it into position too many times, so although the batteries are still in working order, the only way you can make Nick Briggs say one of his "frightening phrases" is to touch the tweezers to a special place.
Ah well...
We've also recently done an appreciation of BRIAN BLESSED where we remember the various times and places we've either encountered or seen him. This was prompted when we watched Richard Herring's recent interview with him, in which Brian is in full flow for well over an hour and Richard is reduced to being a bystander on his own show.
We've seen Brian at conventions, at signings and on stage several times. Each of these has been a truly memorable occasion and I wish I had even a quarter of his energy!
One thing that people might not know about is his passion for Space and we'd direct you to Richard's podcast to see an example of this inspiring enthusiasm for the frontiers of science.
Slightly calmer, but no less wonderful is the 'Bagpuss' section of the book 'The Art Of Smallfilms', which is the subject of our most recent video. For those of us who love the worlds created by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin, this is an absolute treasure trove of visual material, as we noted yesterday.
In some ways, the video becomes and extended advert for the book (we can discuss any percentage we can claim at a later date!) but when you have such a lovely thing in your collection, you just want to share it with the world.
Treat yourself to a copy, you won't regret it!
Tomorrow, we hope to record the majority of the links and sketches for Episode 22 of 'Round The Archives', then I can begin the edit in earnest.
As always, if you enjoy our nonsense, please tell your friends. But only if you think they'll like it, of course. If you truly want to annoy them, I can always record a song or two at fairly reasonable rates...
